On the 14th December 2016, the Department of Petroleum Resources inspected the proposed project site; and subsequently, Midoil presented its 20,000 bpsd Refinery Technical Details, Economic Analysis and the LICENCE TO ESTABLISH (LTE) was approved.
Thereafter, Midoil foreign partners advised an increase of the refinery capacity from 20,000 to 100,000 bpsd to enable an attractive Return on Investment.
Midoil submitted its application for upgrade of the refinery capacity to 100,000 bpsd in May 2019.
